Crowns

Hello my lovely chums!
I was at orchestra yesterday when a girl asked me whether I made my Flower Crowns and if I did how much I sold them for. I was a little surprised that anyone would actually want to buy on of my crowns as I kind of just make them for fun but I was very flattered that she wanted one so I have made a couple of different ones for her to choose from. What do you guys think?

Review: The Body Shop - Japanese Cherry Blossom

I was shopping for birthday presents for some of my friends when I stumbled across the Japanese Cherry Blossom range completely by accident. I hadn't realised but the Body Shop had a deal of buy two body mists and receive a hand cream free. So on arriving at the counter I was pleasantly surprised to be asked to pick which one I would like. As I was in a bit of a rush I quickly grabbed the Japanese Cherry Blossom hand cream and thought no more of it. That is until I returned home and opened it up to discover that it was the nicest smelling thing that my nose had ever come across. Sadly The Body Shop doesn't actually sell the hand cream as a stand alone product as far as I know (but if I'm wrong please let me know as I absolutely love the stuff) however this did lead to me buying two of the other Japanese Cherry Blossom products which will feature below.
Japanese Cherry Blossom Body Mist - $25.95

Escape to Japan with cherry blossom. A light spritz infused with Japanese Cherry Blossom. This romantic, captivating blend of floral and hinoki wood accords was inspired by a spring day in Kyoto.

After chatting to my friend, who is very into perfumes and such, I was a little hesitant to buy the body mist as she said that it didn't smell all that strong however I am ever so glad that I did buy it. The scent isn't overwhelmingly strong but you can definately smell it and it has a lovely fresh fruity/florally scent. I could smell this on me until about lunchtime when I ate an orange that overpowered the smell however that is about six hours worth of lovely smelling freshness which I think is pretty good. I am ever so pleased with this purchase because of the amazingness of the scent. It is probably my favourite one that I have found at The Body Shop which is saying a lot because I absolutely adore The Body Shop! I would definately recommend trying this!

Japanese Cherry Blossom Body Wash 250 ml - $20.95

I was actually super excited about this one as I thought 'Oh yay This will be long lasting, smell fabtastic and complement my Body Mist really nicely' however I was rather disapointed apon trying it. The smell was actually pretty different to the one I had quickly fallen in love with in the hand cream. It was deffinately less strongly scented and did not smell anywhere near as nice and florally as the hand cream and the body mist. Sadly I was disapointed with this and it has put me off buying Body Shop body wash's again which is a shame.

So those are my thoughts n the Japanese Cherry Blossom range (or some of it because I am most definately not rich enough to buy the whole range). I did buy some other things whilst at the body shop and will hopefully review those ones in a later post!

What scents do you like from the body shop?

p.s. As I do not have a camara that actually takes nice photos I have used the photo's from the Body Shop website

Review: The Body Shop - Vitamin E Cool BB Cream

Vitamin E Cool BB Cream - $21.95
The Vitamin E Cool BB Cream illuminates, evens skin tone and moisturises for 12 hours. The air-whisked lightweight texture will effortlessly smooth onto the skin for a fresh and natural look.

I was reading up on different makeups last week, when I was sick and avoiding work that really did need to be done, when I came across a review on BB cream. I had, of course, heard of BB cream before as there are always adds on TV with some actress telling me just how much she loves her BB Cream however I am not someone who likes to wear foundation. I see many beauty bloggers who are evidently wearing foundation and look absolutely gorgeous however I also see many a girl at shopping centres who have so much foundation caked onto their face that their head has grown a good couple of inches and this is not a look that I would wear as I do actually have fairly good skin.  Also considering how young I am wearing heavy foundation wouldn't quite suit my style of dress etc. So when I read a review of BB Cream (which I think was by Zoella but I can't quite remember and I can't find the post so I'm not 100% sure) and she said that she wasn't too fond of the BB cream as it didn't give her enough cover and that the look was a little too 'natural' for her I thought well that sounds absolutely perfect for me! So I bought this when I went to The Body Shop on Monday and I have to say I am loving it so far! It doesn't have a 'caked on' effect that foundation can get yet still makes my face a lot less blotchy and I look a lot brighter. It lasts for the whole day as well so I don't have to try to top it up every two minutes and I hardly notice that there is anything on my face so my skin is still able to breath nicely! My face also feels really nice after taking it off however I am not sure if this is the Cream or my new Facial Cleanser. This is perfect for beginners with makeup and anyone going for a more 'natural' look. And I would recommend it very highly!

What foundation do you use? Have you tried many BB Creams? Let me know in the comments

Stories from ones who are older and wiser

At the moment I am not always the happiest person and I was discussing this fact with my mother in the car the other day (Because my mum is one of those awesome people who listen whilst you spill your deepest, darkest secrets). I said that at the moment I'm just trying to ignore it and get on with life and she turned to me and said "Gem, imagine you are holding a big balloon. Wherever you go that balloon goes too. If you ignore the balloon it bumps into you so you can't forget. The balloon makes you feel dead inside which you don't like so you try to push the balloon away but as soon as you have pushed it firmly away you turn to see it right by your side once again. What you can't see is that everyone has a balloon. Nobody says anything about their balloon because they don't wont to be the one that 'can't handle it. My mothers generation didn't know how to talk about their balloon so they ignored it, until the time came when they wordlessly passed it onto my generation. I didn't know what to do with my balloon. Because nobody talked about it there was never a solution. But this has to stop. We have to break this vicious cycle. We have to talk about it. We can't continue to push away our balloon because it just keeps coming back so we have to think. We have to turn around and glare at our balloon and shout 'I SEE YOU AND I DON'T LIKE YOU!' because only then will we really begin to understand what our balloon is telling us."
I don't know how well I have managed to understand my balloon but even just yelling at it really did help.

Something I Think Is Rad

As I have once again neglected my blog I decided to brainstorm things that I could do. Almost immediately the thought of a post/article/thing about my bedroom. Sadly there are two things that were stopping this a) I don't have a camera that takes better quality pictures than a PC laptop which anyone who owns a PC will know is terrible quality  (yes I know that not owning a professional looking camera is probably illegal among bloggers but it was a confession that had to be made) and b) I have been gravely ill recently (as in stuck in bed 'grave' is a bit of an exaggeration) and due to this my room is terribly messy and needs a good vacuum. Despite these two facts i decided to soldier on with my mum's Iphone (for added coolness). However after cleaning my room i suddenly discovered that my energy had disappeared and i was no longer able to climb the stairs to get the vacuum. I know I'm lazy. So here are some, possibly grainy, pictures of the room in which I hide from the world in dirty floor and all.

A Christmas present from my sister as a nod to my slight obsession with London

I was given these fairy lights as an eight year old and have since lost the thing that plugs it into the power point (wow getting a bit technical here sorry) but thought that they look nice just as they are.

My crown collection ordered into when they were made

I collect postcards every week when I go to orchestra and this is what I do with them

The wooden stand with the music clefs on it was made by me in a woodwork class at school a couple of years ago and the embroidered fairy was a gift made by my mother when I was eight or nine.

I didn't know what to do with this old ironing board so I made it into a necklace holder which actually works surprisingly well.

A box arrived from England recently (as my sister had just been there) and in it were many Harry Potter-ish delights. This shrine was quickly formed.

Spare flowers for Crown making

A china doll with my birthstone on its necklace and my first ever pair of shoes

Another example of my British obsession

I have never had a curtain for this window and the light always wakes me up so I took matters into my own hands and hung up a rap-around skirt. My other fairy lights, a bag and a mobile that my sister made for me.

Two excellent books that my sister found for me in London

My (sun)glasses collection

This one has a rather sweet story behind it. I once mentioned to my mum that I didn't think star signs work because I only had the 'bad' Scorpio characteristics. The next day I came home to find this in my room with my mum telling me that she wanted me to look at this every day because every single thing on here is a characteristic that I possess.
Whether its true or not is now irrelevant as every time I look at it I remember that my mum loves me.

So there you go chums! That is my room
